Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking tourism entry From the United States

NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswirein July and August 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism reported record numbers of tourist arrivals from the United States. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4% rise over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is the top market for Israel inbound tourism. In fact, before the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourism entry each month. It's a fantastic positive change that we are very happy about and anticipate an upward trajectory for years to be."

Not far behind the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourism numbers in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in August.

Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not too far away from our record numbers for 2019 We are hoping that this growth in the number of travelers to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians remain confident about traveling internationally."

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from abroad in the year 2019 and this included 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter whether they have been vaccination-free. The country has already hosted more than 600,000.
