Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry From the United States
NEW YORK - September 8 2022- New record breaking tourism arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents a 13% improvement from 2019.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. "It is exciting to witness a second growth in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number of 2019," he stated. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country every month. It's a fantastic positive shift that we are very happy about and anticipate an increase in the many months to follow."
Canada is home to 7,200 tourists in July 2022, and 6,000 tourists in August, is not far from the United States.
"It is exciting to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is rebounding," said Gal Hana, Consul and Director for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are getting close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019, and we anticipate that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more at home abroad.
Israel received more than 4.6 million tourists in the year of 2019. 969,600 were of the United States. The country's official reopening to all travelers in May has seen more than 600,000.
