Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry From the USA

NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of travelers from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists during July 2022. This was a 4 percent increase from 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in August 2022.

Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is exciting to once again witness an rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching the record-breaking numbers of the year 2019," he stated. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking figures of tourist entry each month. It's a great positive trend that we're very happy about and expect an upward trend for years to follow."

Canada is also on track, as the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022, Canada received 7,200 visitors and August witnessed the number increase to 6,000.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that "it's thrilling to observe how tourism in Canada is recovering."  נווה פריצקי "We are getting close to our record 2019 numbers. We expect that this growth will continue to grow as Canadians are more active in traveling abroad.

In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million international tourists 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since the country's official opening to all travelers regardless of vaccination status in May of this year Israel has witnessed more than 600,400 US travelers.
