NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans during July 2022. This was a 4 percent increase over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States were in Israel during August 2022.

Already reaching the record-breaking numbers of 2019," he stated. "The United States is our top market for inbound tourism to Israel and prior to the COVID-19 epidemic that was sweeping the world, we were celebrating record-breaking tourist numbers every month. We're thrilled to witness an improvement in the trend and we anticipate an upward trajectory for many months and years to follow."
Canada is also on track, as the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022, Canada received 7,200 visitors and August saw the number increase to 6,000.

"We are getting close to our record-setting numbers in 2019. We believe that this increase will continue to grow as Canadians visit more countries.
Israel received more tourists from all over the world during 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of them were Americans. Israel's official opening for all tourists was in May of 2018. The country has already welcomed more than 600,400 US travellers since that time.
