NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire• In July and August of 2018 the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of tourists arriving from the United States. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a four percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% from the year before.

"It is so thrilling to see yet another rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers in 2019," said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our top market for Israel's inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record number of tourists from Israel entering Israel every month. We are so happy to witness this positive change and anticipate it to continue for a long time."

Not far behind in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing the number of tourists visiting Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada in the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not too far away from our record 2019 numbers We are hoping that this increase in the number of travelers to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians remain confident about travelling abroad."

Israel received more tourists from all over the world in the year 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of these were Americans. Israel's official reopening for travellers from May 2018. The country has received more than 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
